    Mark is an extensively experienced children’s rheumatologist who has been working in this specialty for more than 20 years.

    Originally from the UK, Mark qualified from the University of Birmingham in 1991 and then trained in Paediatrics, before specialising in the care of children with rheumatic diseases. He qualified as a consultant in 2002.

    Mark initially worked as a specialist rheumatologist at the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne from 2002 to 2017 where, alongside his clinical work he was the local researcher for several national and international clinical trials, including large cohort studies of children with SLE, Dermatomyositis, and Vasculitis.

    Mark was the chair of the Clinical Affairs committee of the British Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology from 2009-15, and the Vice-President from 2015-16.

    Mark relocated to Adelaide with his wife and two teenage sons in 2017 and now consults in his private practice at Adelaide Paediatrics Mile End and Morphett Vale locations, alongside working at Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
