Dr Hurley is a paediatric neurologist holding positions at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and privately at Adelaide Paediatrics' Kensington Park location. Dr Hurley graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2013, before undertaking paediatric training at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Network. She began her paediatric neurology training in 2019 and completed her Paediatric Neurology Fellowship (Royal Australasian College of Physicians) in 2022, training across the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital Networks. She completed a 12-month epilepsy fellowship and 6-month consultant locum at the Sydney Children’s Hospital (Randwick) before returning to Adelaide. Throughout her training and career, she has contributed to teaching and research at Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Networks, where she has been a conjoint lecturer with associated universities – University of Adelaide and University of New South Wales.

Dr Hurley understands the complexities of investigating, diagnosing, and managing neurological diseases in children and infants, and aims to form long-term relationships with her patients and their families to support them on this difficult journey. She has experience in general neurological presentations, including epilepsy, headaches, neuromuscular conditions, tic disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders. Unfortunately, she is unable to offer on-site EEG service at Adelaide Paediatrics – this will be performed through the Women’s and Children’s Public Hospital or through SEER privately.

Whilst Dr Hurley would like to see all referrals, she will not be able to accept the following in her capacity at Adelaide Paediatrics:

    • Any patient whose complexity requires the care of a tertiary neurological service (will advise to redirect referral to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital)

    • Patients with presentations requiring nerve conduction studies (will require referral to Women’s and Children’s Hospital)

    • Neurological emergencies including but not limited to: Concern for infantile spasms, acute neurological decline/deficit, acute confusional/cognitive presentations.

    • Post-concussive management or clearance for return to sport

    • Unable to offer EEG services at Adelaide Paediatrics

In her time away from work, Dr Hurley enjoys spending time with her busy child. She also enjoys playing the piano, water-skiing, and is always dreaming of her next travel adventure!
