Learning difficulties can severely hinder learning and enjoyment of school and the education experience. A psycho-educational assessment is performed by a psychologist and provides information regarding a child’s intellectual capacity, or cognitive functioning, and their academic achievement. Once the difficulties are assessed and identified, the journey of intervention and support will start for your child. Giftedness and Intellectual Disability can also be assessed.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is often not diagnosed until preschool age (or much older in many cases), however earlier recognition is possible. Early identification means that play based intervention can commence at a younger age, which can lead to increased outcomes for the child. We offer ASD screening assessments for children as young as 12 months of age. These assessments focus on general development (language, motor and cognitive skills), as well as on key early indicators of ASD.

A Vocational Assessment with a psychologist identifies and recommends career goals to help parents and students choose the right path to find meaningful employment. Many factors are considered including intelligence and personality testing, medical background, education history, labour market conditions and more. Investigating and testing these areas will give information about which field your child is most suited to which is then compared to the work needs which are most important to them. This information can be invaluable when planning together for the future.
